What religion is C S Lewis?

I am new to this forum. I have been trying to find out if CS Lewis was a Catholic. I thought someone on the radio said that he was but no one seems to know for sure. I am reading a book about him but it does not mention whether or not he was Protestant or Catholic. Can someone answer this question?
Thanks

He was a middle-of-the road Anglican, who described himself as neither high nor low church. This means he was NOT a Catholic sympathiser.
He was never a Catholic. However, his friend Ron Tolkien, whose influence helped Lewis find Christian faith, was a very sincere Catholic. Sometimes people confuse these two.

To find out Lewis' beliefs, I would go to Lewis' own works. I would start by looking at the material on the menu here; it's excellent.

I looked back at Carol's post in which she describes herself as 'low church.' In terms of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer, and indeed of every official prayer book of the English Church since Elizabeth I, that would mean that they ignore and disobey the rubrics and the canons of the Church, primarily the Ornaments Rubric. For RC's that is rather like being Cistercian, a bit one penny plain instead of two penny coloured.

Carol says they preach the Bible keenly but are obviously not up to the standards of Malachi. See chapter 1, verse 11. Incidentally, the table and the altar are the same and the words have always been used interchangeably even in the Latin books. And, yes, even in Malachi.

This may not seem like a 'big thing,' but disobedience, beginning with Adam, has been the major sin; deciding that you know better than God how things should be done. But we in the West are very big upon it.
