Hi everybody! I'm an Italian scout master and i'm looking for informations about relationships between lewis and scoutism. As you certainly know, in CON there are references to scoutism(speaking about Jill Pole). I'm trying to discover if lewis met or knew robert baden powell(scoutism foundator) and if they influenced each other's work.
Is there anybody who knows something about this?

Welcome, akela!

As far as I know, there is no connection between Baden-Powell and Lewis. Lewis was a fan of long walks, but I'm fairly sure he never had anything to do with any organized youth groups.

Oh, in English, it's 'Scouting', not 'scoutism'.
Rat! he found breath to whisper, shaking. Are you afraid?
Afraid? murmured the Rat, his eyes shining with unutterable love.
Afraid! Of Him? O, never, never! And yet -- and yet -- O, Mole, I am afraid!
Then the two animals, crouching to the earth, bowed their heads and did worship.
