Argh! I voted for That Hideous Strength, because I wasn't thinking. >.> I really do prefer Till We Have Faces. But THS is good too... it had the greatest effect on my emotions, but TWHF touched the deepest. It's impossible to choose!

It's hard for me to draw a line between "best book" and book that touched me most. I voted for "The Last Battle" because of it's very powerful positive effect it had on me as a teenager... to me that means it must be very good since back then hardly anything from a Christian author could have had a positive effect on me. However, I consider THS to be just as good, though for different reasons.
Actually, I would need to vote for still more of his books (e.g. the Screwtape Letters), but I guess that doesn't fit in here since the thread asks about one "best book".

"Jill," said Tirian, "you are the bravest and most wood-wise of all my subjects, but also the most malapert and disobedient."
"By the Mane!" he whispered to Eustace. "This girl is a wondrous wood-maid. If she had Dryad's blood in her she could scarce do it better." - The Last Battle

Tough choice. I have not yet read all of those books listed, but i had to vote for Perelandra. As much as I like Narnia, The Great Divorce, God in the Dock and Screwtape, i cannot go past the Cosmic Trilogy...

I voted for Last Battle, I would have voted for Horse & His Boy as well, but considering they weren't together...they're the two Lewis books which more than any other of his writings have impacted me hugely - but he has the ability to do that with any of his writing, of course!

I voted for LWW, even though I liked it just as much as The Last Battle and TWHF...

They were all terrific!
Though I love all of the books that I've read that C. S Lewis wrote!

My regards,
