Lindskoog herself

The man. The myth.

Lindskoog herself

Postby Cuinn » April 17th, 2006, 3:54 pm

I realise that there have been previous threads on the C.S. Lewis hoax and the controversy surrounding Walter Hooper. However, I'd like to actually talk about Kathryn Lindskoog instead and how she came about her findings against Hooper and his runnings of the Lewis estate.

I'll admit that I have not had the chance to read Sleuthing C.S. Lewis or any other edition of her published findings, but I am familiar with her charges against Hooper. That being said, I'd like to know what you fellow Lewisians know or feel concerning Lindskoog and her acclamations. Does she have any solid ground to stand on or is it all paranoid conjecture? Does she have any self-gain by going against Hooper? How was she able to discover these alleged forgeries in Hooper's take of things?

Thoughts? Opinions? Rantings?

Lindskoog actually used to post on here before she died (well naturally .. it would hardly have been proper to post after she died ;)). I never engaged with her much though because at the time I had not read the Dark Tower and hence wasn't much interested. Shame - it would have been fascinating to get things straight from the horse's mouth, as it were.

The story is , for the record.

By the way, judging from what I've seen I'd say the "Secular tolerance cabal" is more a parody than a copy, but I'm not sure I get it. ;) (We tolerate secular people as well, too. That's kind of the point.)

Also, although the RTC itself is a joke, the message is not. There are a couple of threads in the "Christianity" forum on related subjects from a few weeks back.

Then they came for the Iraqis and I protested because I was an American. Then they came for the Muslims and I spoke out because I was a Christian, Then they came for the poor and I spoke out because I was rich. By the time they came for me, I had all the support a man could ask for.”

…on a night of rain Frodo smelled a sweet fragrance on the air and heard the sound of singing that came over the water. And then it seemed to him that as in his dream in the house of Bombadil, the grey rain-curtain turned all to silver glass and was rolled back, and he beheld white shores and beyond them a fair green country under a swift sunrise.
