No but I gather that some of the people who disapprove of him cite the fact that he drank as proof that he couldn't be a Christian. I've never understood that mentality at all but then - some of these people apparently use ribena for communion 'wine.'

I don't know what to say. Those people are not of my culture. We drink wine. We harvest it and bottle it too.

We don't say "Praise Jesus!, " either, and yet...we are Christians...

Different strokes for different folks?

I guess, and I suppose if it works for people then that's fine. The problem I have is when people start saying things like 'it was grape juice at the wedding in Canna' or 'they drank very very low alcohol wine because the water wasn't fit for drinking.' I just don't think that that's true.

Oh sure, if people want to be teetotal because of their personal principles that's fine. But they should not be forcing it on other people and they certainly should not be forcing it on Jesus..

It weren't grape juice and I never bought the watered-down wine explaination either.

Okay .. that was a long time ago ;). I've never looked at wine in the same way since..

When I drink wine, I drink wine; when I drink liquor, I drink liquor; when I drink beer, baby, I drink beer. None of that doctored up stuff for me. Same goes for coffee too. None of that weasily cappachino stuff. I drink it strong and black and plain.

I drink mainly beer ... I don't much like wine and don't know enough about to make sure I am buying something decent (in fact when i do buy it I tend to go on price which is a lousy way of judging whether something is any good or not..).

I'd like to taste really good wine though, just to see if I could tell whether it was really good.
