Considering the amount of time Ransom spent in the sea in Perelandra, I would not be surprised if Lewis had the occasional swim. Maybe he was not a sportsman, and I don't know much of his personal life, but he was child at some stage
And to have the imagination he did, he must have done some awesome things as a kid!!!
It seems as though he really got involved and saturated himself with the things he wrote about. He knew them on a different dimension. It is almost as he had somebody working on the 'inside' of all the different worlds that he wrote about.

I think he might have used Hollywood to his advantage. Even though he might not at all felt comfortable with it. I'm sure he'd know that the population was not reading as much.

If he lived in South Africa he woul probably be walking with a gun in his pocket, with all his most best belongings on his back, and watching every corner and hiding place... LOL

Here in JHB (Johannesburg) where I stay you can't walk alone in the street. And I don't mean only at night, I mean night and day!!!

Only a month ago a teenager was cut into pieces with a Mescheti, right across the street where I live...

Every second person has a pistol or something, somewhere!!
Even we have one... The police is never any help e.g A year or two ago someone broke into our car and we are still waiting for the police!
