What Bible version did Lewis read or prefer?

The man. The myth.

What Bible version did Lewis read or prefer?

"Jill," said Tirian, "you are the bravest and most wood-wise of all my subjects, but also the most malapert and disobedient."
"By the Mane!" he whispered to Eustace. "This girl is a wondrous wood-maid. If she had Dryad's blood in her she could scarce do it better." - The Last Battle

Rat! he found breath to whisper, shaking. Are you afraid?
Afraid? murmured the Rat, his eyes shining with unutterable love.
Afraid! Of Him? O, never, never! And yet -- and yet -- O, Mole, I am afraid!
Then the two animals, crouching to the earth, bowed their heads and did worship.

Just as a guess, I would think that Lewis would have preferred the New Testament in Greek (and perhaps the OT as well, in the Septaguint translation). In English, I doubt that he would stick to one translation, particularly if he was investigating a specific point. As one trained in scholarly methods, he would have consulted several versions.
"What are you laughing at?"
"At myself. My little puny self," said Phillipa.

I have a Moffat NT. I like it.

I would guess whatever Lewis thought about higher criticism in literature in general would be what he believed about higher criticism (e.g., TR vs. N/A critical text) in Scripture. Given what views we get of his ideas of Biblical inspiration and the like in Reflections on the Psalms, I rather think he wouldn't get too upset either way about the critical texts.
