What did C.S. Lewis think of John Buyan's "Pilgrim's Progress"? That book was very meaningful for me, when I read it for the first time, several years ago. I was just amazed how there could be so much of the Bible and/or Christian theology in a work of fiction. There was just so much packed into every page of it -- I was in awe of it, and plan to read it again soon. I was just wondering if Lewis ever said much about this book?

He mentioned Bunyan a few times in his books, I think he was a fan.

There is an essay by CSL on Bunyan in Selected Literary Essays.

C.S. Lewis wrote a book called The Pilgrim's Regress, which is based on the idea of The Pilgrim's Progress. It was one of his earlier works. I really enjoyed it, but it's definately less polished than his more famous works.

I really like both the Pilgrim's Progress and Pilgrim's Regress :toothy-grin: I think the latter was Lewis' first 'book', but I might be wrong. I love the imagery

I think the Pilgrim's Regress was Lewis' first Christian book. It may also have been his first prose book; but I know he had published at least one book of poetry before that.
