This will be my last post on this thread. I simply must get on with some more work. However I wanted to refer to p. 170 of Pearce's book where he makes a rather illuminating remark where he concludes "my book on Lewis' troubled relationship with the Church" and goes on to quote Maurice Baring's poem 'Vita Nuova'. However, although I accept that CSL had a mildly controversial relationship with the RCC, which he respectfully took issue with on a number of points, he was untroubled by it. Lewis knew he already belonged to Christ's Holy Catholic Church both during this mortal life and on into the life eternal, life immortal - for which he said, towards the end, " I can't wait. "
To borrow girlfreddy's phrase; "cool", indeed.
