i was just searching babynames.com and i found this:

thought it was interesting...
i'm going to do more searching and see if this "meaning" is consistant...

^ that's interesting. I've thought of the names Tumnus as some strange combination between 'autumn' and 'Faunus' who was a kind of rustic, Roman god rather like Pan.
Those observations about the Latin are interesting. The name evokes a kind of natural, earthy feeling.

Diggory. A very English name. I remember it was the name of one of the three brothers in the old British film Beau Gest.

My favorite English name is Sossity--not heard in the USA but popular in the UK and the name of a girl I was once very close to.
