Rat! he found breath to whisper, shaking. Are you afraid?
Afraid? murmured the Rat, his eyes shining with unutterable love.
Afraid! Of Him? O, never, never! And yet -- and yet -- O, Mole, I am afraid!
Then the two animals, crouching to the earth, bowed their heads and did worship.

Ah yes, I must join this group. Until I read this thread I actually didn't know there was any dispute on the order! My copies were in the publishing order, therefore that is the order i thought it was supposed to be in. And while I now have read them in different orders, I still prefer publishing order for a first time reader.
The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid? - Psalm 27:1

Glad to have you, Lirenel and Pam!
We can always use more members of the 2456317 Club (and Paul Ford's brain-child the 2453617 Club) to help us combat evil in the publishing world!
We are fighting for truth, justice, and the originally published order! Image

So, we know Sven has one of the following shirts:

Does anyone else have one? (I bought one in time to wear it to the movie opening day.)

While rereading through the Chronicles this time,
I've grown fond of the 2345617 sequence.
The only difference is moving H&HB right after
LWW, which appeals far more to me than picking
it up later in the story. H&HB is during the golden
years if I have things straight.

Yeah, I can see Edisonbaggins' point... kinda.
And yet, there's a charm in coming upon the four Kings and Queens of the golden age as peripheral characters after reading through a couple of books that don't include Peter and Susan, and a book that doesn't include Edmund and Lucy. It feels like a secret discovery, seeing them in another context.
At least it was that way for me, especially the first time I read through the series.
