Hi everyone! I am all for the original published order!! (I was sooo happy when I found out the films seem to be progressing in that order!)

Can I add one of the Upholder of the Original Published Order banners to my signature or are those for your personal use only?

Thanks! Do you think they will come out with a 2456317 set with film covers eventually?

I would love to join this club, guys. It's the order I prefer reading the books. (Except that I think you can read THHB at any point after LWW.) But the problem is ... well ... didn't "Jack" say once that he preferred to read them in chronological order?

I mean, if "Jack" preferred it that way ... are we ... wrong? I'm so confused! :??: I don't know what I should do.
Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

I joined the club on Facebook, but not on here.... how about now? I may read them any order, but Publishers should stick to the Published Order. It's just how it Ought to Be.
... and their joy was like swords, and they passed in thought out to regions where pain and delight flow together and tears are the very wine of blessedness.

Hello 2456317 Clubbers,

This is Devin Brown (author of Inside Narnia and Inside Prince Caspian) checking in to say keep up the good work!

I am trying to do my part by always referring to TLWW as the first book, PC as the second book, and so on. (I also mention you on p. 15 of Inside Prince Caspian.)

Besides preference, there is an even more important reason for fighting for a return to the original numbering system. I often have the chance to talk to young people, and I always ask them if they have read the Narnia books. Lately a number of young readers have told me: "Well, I tried to read the first story but couldn't really get into it, so I quit."

When I express my surprise that they couldn't get into The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, I am told: "Oh, I didn't read that book. I read The Magician's Nephew because I thought that was first."

CSL would not be happy to learn that the new numbering is keeping some young people from enjoying the series he wrote for them.

Keep up the fight for the return to the original numbering!

Best Wishes,
Devin Brown

While MN is fantastic, I can see why some modern readers might have a hard time getting into it. LWW starts a bit faster. Another good reason for reading them in the correct order!

The MN is a great book, but great only when read in its original place, AFTER we know certain things about Narnia.

The wonderful feeling of saying, "So THAT'S where the lamp-post came from! So THAT'S where the wardrobe came come!" happens only if readers have read TLWW first.

If we have NOT read TLWW, we don't care about the lamp-post or the wardrobe.
