Rat! he found breath to whisper, shaking. Are you afraid?
Afraid? murmured the Rat, his eyes shining with unutterable love.
Afraid! Of Him? O, never, never! And yet -- and yet -- O, Mole, I am afraid!
Then the two animals, crouching to the earth, bowed their heads and did worship.

Lewis' favorite season was winter? Do you have a source for this? I'd like to know more about it.

I've always thought I was weird because winter is my favorite season. Where I grew up (Indiana, USA) the summers are hot and humid and miserable. Fall is nice and spring, but winter is great. Now I live in Michigan, which has long severe winter and I get feeling mellow when I see the seasons change, feel the cold winds come in, and know winter is on the way.

So anything anyone has on this--a quote or source on Lewis preferring winter--let me know!

"What are you laughing at?"
"At myself. My little puny self," said Phillipa.
