Toys seen in Portugal

Postby john » November 10th, 2005, 9:11 pm

I've finally seen some of the Narnia action figures at a local store. I guess they're alright...typical action figures, I suppose. The one thing that struck me the most was the one of the Minotaur with a sticker on the box that says "With Slashing Action".

Yeah.

Another strange place to see promotion for the new movie? Your local American grocer's freezer aisle. On the Pillsbury waffles. Somehow waffles and Narnia don't seem to go together to me...

I didn't say it was strange to see the toys in Portugal! We have culture here, too, ya know! ;)

"Jill," said Tirian, "you are the bravest and most wood-wise of all my subjects, but also the most malapert and disobedient."
"By the Mane!" he whispered to Eustace. "This girl is a wondrous wood-maid. If she had Dryad's blood in her she could scarce do it better." - The Last Battle

At a bookstore yesterday I saw Narnia hampers. They were paper bags with Narnia movie concept art on it with a single-volume edition in (movie art on the cover) and an action-figure in as well. I thought "oh crap, the marketing machine is in full swing now."
