I was finally able to purchase the soundtrack just over a week ago (I think) - well since my brother's been in hospital anyway (and he's now been in there 2 weeks). Actually, several weeks ago, a friend of mine who works for the local Christian radio station, was wanting to put Alanis Morrisette's "Wunderkind" in the play list, however, after recently listening to it, he made the decision that he couldn't, not because there's anything offensive in it, but near the beginning of the song she sings the word foot but it sounds like f*ck, and due to the possibilty of people not doing their research and getting the actual lyrics - considering people would be inclined to turn off the station - and the complaints they might get, he took the decision not to add it.

Shows how petty some people are, doesn't it? :/ Not Scott (my friend), obviously, but those who listen and then decide not to listen to a station because it sounds like there is offensive language in a song.

Just seen the film for the first time, on DVD. Not terribly impressed with most of the music. Most of it I didn't even notice and the odd thing actually jarred like the song at the end.

Enjoyed the film though.

:pleased:

Don't particularly care about the songs. They seem fine to me. The movie is what I payed attention to.

Just thought I would mention that one of the advanced ballet groups at the dance school my son is at is working on a dance choreographed to some of the music from the Narnia soundtrack. They'll probably be performing it in the June show.

…on a night of rain Frodo smelled a sweet fragrance on the air and heard the sound of singing that came over the water. And then it seemed to him that as in his dream in the house of Bombadil, the grey rain-curtain turned all to silver glass and was rolled back, and he beheld white shores and beyond them a fair green country under a swift sunrise.

I loved the music, and I still play it in my head often, altought I do think that, as someone else pointed out, they should do specific themes for the characters. BTW, has anyone heard the music from the BBC movies????? I love Aslan's theme. :)
Oh empty my heart.... I've got to make room for this feeling.... This feeling is bigger than me!:D

Look down to about the middle of the third page of the The Chronicles of Narnia: TLTW&TW DVD thread for comments about that music.

I would rather have the proper CD anyway, with pictures, lyrics,...etc.

Some of us live in the Far East and have no practical means of EVER buying the proper CD (Once in a GREAT while I can get a special delivery). They're losing nothing from me.

Not only that, but the CD doesn't have the lyrics with it anyway. :(

What do you have there? I take it your not like Americans or the English. You made it sound like you are in a place that is below standards, if that is the correct term.

A majority of what is available here is pirate or junk. Last year DVDs stopped carrying English on them so now I can't get most new releases.
There ARE places that carry some licensed stuff, and the prices are out of reach for most Russians (what you call $15 they call 425 rubles, for many that's 10% of a monthly salary). Finally, there is no significant market for symphonic soundtracks here, so I'm totally out of luck.

I loved the soundrack, specially Rebecca St James song, Lion. Every time I hear it, it reminds me of Aslan, and he is so wonderful. Any way I love the whole soundtrack.

That's the Inspired by album, not the soundtrack. ;) There's another thread devoted to the Inspired by album. :)

BTW, does anyone know where exactly in the movie the piece of "the Battle" that runs from about 3:00 to 3:50 plays? For some reason i want to say it plays when the White Witch is battling Peter, but I think it's actually when the Narnian army is charging the White Witch's army.

Portions of 'the Battle" soundtrack are found in the following: when the elk stands on the bluff and bellows at the Narnian army, also like you said when the armies charge, when the eagles fly overhead and drop rocks on the witch's army, and after Edmund is stabbed and Peter is rushing towards the Witch and fights her. Other than that I can't think of others off the top of my head. Hope that helps.

Wunderkind is not only played during the credits (as has already been mentioned) but it was also played near the beginning of the movie, when the kids are on the train (I think).

Actually Wunderkind is only played ONCE. The song during the train sounds a LITTLE like Wunderkind because of a few oooohs but other than that no. The song on the train is called Evacuating London-very beautiful reflective, ect.
