Welcome, Aureola!

It's the city of Charn.

Oh, and Magician's Nephew is book 6 ;)
Rat! he found breath to whisper, shaking. Are you afraid?
Afraid? murmured the Rat, his eyes shining with unutterable love.
Afraid! Of Him? O, never, never! And yet -- and yet -- O, Mole, I am afraid!
Then the two animals, crouching to the earth, bowed their heads and did worship.

Actually, MN is the sixth book. The city was called Charn.

Welllll, as they are published now with numbers on them, it says '1', but it was actually the sixth one written, and us old fuddy duddys prefer to read it in the published order :)

Sorry, in between the time I started my original post and the time I finished it (longer than it looks, as I was interrupted), your question was answered. And since Sven has answered about MN being the sixth book, not the first, I won't go into that explanation.

And whom are you calling old, Sven?

Aureola--can we see the poem?

By the way--if anyone here belongs to the Mythopeic Society of America, a group of poems called Narnia Sonnets will be appearing in the society's literary publication, called Mythprint.

Lots of people have written poems about Narnia. Sometimes I think of organizing them into an anthology.

Hi back lol okay i will copy and paste the poem but please notice that it doesn't really have much to do with the plot, it's just what came to my mind, i got inspired by charn. here you go:

Walking through those empty streets
Listening to the sound of my feet
Darkness falls, a humid sheet
I wonder how often a heart can beat

Unfinished thoughts rotate my mind
Of dreams, misery and all that kind
With impassionate woe my face is lined
Falling drops, tears that make me blind

If you were with me at this time
I could have smelled your hair, the thyme
Now! My inside flares at the sound of chime
Heralding boldly the hour of crime

Can't you feel me, my love?
Are you at least watching me from above?
Was it happiness that I was unworthy of?
Was it sympathy, or lack thereof

For better, or rather worse, this is the end
If you want to help me, take my hand
Guide me through this descend
Be my lover and my best friend

Forever…In love…On you I know I can depend…
