Memorabilia or Crapola?

Please don't close the door behind you.

Should Kanakaberaka blow his hard earned cash on Narnian Disney toys?

Poll ended at May 15th, 2006, 2:34 am

Go ahead K. They should fit in well with your toy castle.

Memorabilia or Crapola?

Postby Kanakaberaka » May 8th, 2006, 2:34 am

The Disney store at a local shopping mall has two sets of Narnia figurines on sale for a total of $20. I'm thinking about buying the two of them, but I am not sure that I want to. So far the only Narnia toys I have collected are Lucy and Peter from the McDonald's Happy Meals.

So what do you, my fellow Wardrobians think? Should I add these toys to my collection or pass on them?

K., buy them. Twenty billies is nothing compared to the truly harmless enjoyment you can get from cool toys!

I occasionally buy Brenda Breyer plastic model horses.

Buy them, but please don't leave them in the package. I hate it when people buy toys and leave them in the container to maintain some bogus 'collector's value'. Play with them, maybe with all your other dolls, erm, action figures:

Authentic kneeling rifleman #5: Sir, I spotted a lion biting off a blonde lady's head! He's bigger than our headquarters box!

Bearded '70s GI Joe: Quick, man, get the bazooka team and have them open fire!
Rat! he found breath to whisper, shaking. Are you afraid?
Afraid? murmured the Rat, his eyes shining with unutterable love.
Afraid! Of Him? O, never, never! And yet -- and yet -- O, Mole, I am afraid!
Then the two animals, crouching to the earth, bowed their heads and did worship.

I would say yes. Buy them!. In 20 to 50 years, if kept in box they will be worth more than $20. The kids that bought them will have already open them and played with them and of course either: Garage saled theme; tore them up; lost them; or threw them out.
Without my friends or cousins, I don't make sense. Life would be somewhere not worth my time.
