White Witch and Lady of Green Kirtle

Hello to everybody at the forum.

I'm not sure whether this issue has been raised or not before, but I would like to know everyone's thoughts regarding the two principle 'baddies' in CoN, Jadis (the White Witch) and the Lady of the Green Kirtle; specifically as to whether or not they are one and the same. I'm not sure whether its mentioned or inferred in CoN. What does everybody think?

Yes, it has been discussed before. And no, they are not one and the same. They are "of the same type." That is, both evil witches.

The BBC film version uses the same actress in both roles, which helps to enforce the confusion. (enforced confusion?)

I thought Charn was gone. Remember Aslan showed Polly and Digory the dried-up pool b/c the world of Charn was destroyed?
So no, the Lady of the Green Kirtle was not from Charn. Just another beautiful hag like that witch in Prince Caspian.

But then there is what Mr. Beaver said about Jadis being Adam's first wife or whatever--I think that was from Kabalist lore...very confusing.

And I have always been a little fuzzy about the relationship (or non relationship) between Jadis and the Lady of the Green Kirtle. This has been interesting.
