Of course, Lewis knew Milton and wrote a book on him that is still studied in University-level courses today. A Preface to Paradise Lost puts Lewis in the category of the top Milton scholars of all time.

If you compare the creation of Narnia with the description of creation in Paradise Lost you will find a lot of similarities.
