Im not really sure about who the Un-man is. Whoever it is they are creepy!!!

I agree that the unMan was horribly creepy. It's been a while since I last read Perelandra but I remember the horror of some of the scenes - that of the dead and dying frogs, for instance. In itself, that's not a horrific image - we can see mutilated animals on the roads any day of the week - but as a contrast to the purity of Perelandra previously it was immensely chilling.

…on a night of rain Frodo smelled a sweet fragrance on the air and heard the sound of singing that came over the water. And then it seemed to him that as in his dream in the house of Bombadil, the grey rain-curtain turned all to silver glass and was rolled back, and he beheld white shores and beyond them a fair green country under a swift sunrise.
