Hi all,
I am just starting my dissertation in english; I am writing about C. S Lewis fantasy children's writer and Christian-do you think him more to be a preacher or a childrens story-teller?I know there is an imense amount of christian symbology that can be decoded as an adult, but what about children?is there a balance for old and young?
ANY opinion would help me lots!!! :??:

Welcome, Sarah!

Do you mean was Lewis' primary intent to teach Christian ideas when writing the Chronicles ("preacher"), or was his primary intent to write a good children's story and it happened to end up infused with Christian ideas ("children's story-teller")?
Rat! he found breath to whisper, shaking. Are you afraid?
Afraid? murmured the Rat, his eyes shining with unutterable love.
Afraid! Of Him? O, never, never! And yet -- and yet -- O, Mole, I am afraid!
Then the two animals, crouching to the earth, bowed their heads and did worship.

Exactly- was his primary intent to preach Christianity? I know that he and his brother used to dream up imaginary worlds but as he grew older did he use these worlds as a stepping stone to teach others about Christianity?
