If she WASN'T meant to be named after Lucy Barfield, then it would be very surprising that the book was dedicated to her so overtly.
It is generally accepted that this dedication was linked with the naming.

Paul Ford (p 297 footnote) refers to the original four names, and adds "In honour of his goddaughter, Lucy Barfield, he dedicated the book to her and changed its main character to a youngest child named Lucy".
