Hey, I love them! Thanks for pointing that out, GlumPuddle!

At first I thought the covers a bit childish, as if they were drawn for children's books. Then I remembered they are children's books.

I wish there were larger pictures. I'd like to see what's reflected in that silver apple.

The picture of Reep and Eustace on VDT is my favorite, with the horse race on HHB a close second.

Not crazy about the LB cover since Jewel is not really a major character in the story.

I think mostly people just like unicorns.

I must admit to being a member of a little "Unicorn Club" with my sister and neighbor friends at the age of 12. We had regular meetings in our clubhouse(an old, cleaned-up henhouse) and everything.

I love the girls burying their faces in Aslan's mane on LWW. That is the experience I love most in the book.
... and their joy was like swords, and they passed in thought out to regions where pain and delight flow together and tears are the very wine of blessedness.

Yeah, Aslan's expression is a bit vacant, unfortunately -- hard to get that perfect.

…on a night of rain Frodo smelled a sweet fragrance on the air and heard the sound of singing that came over the water. And then it seemed to him that as in his dream in the house of Bombadil, the grey rain-curtain turned all to silver glass and was rolled back, and he beheld white shores and beyond them a fair green country under a swift sunrise.

Rat! he found breath to whisper, shaking. Are you afraid?
Afraid? murmured the Rat, his eyes shining with unutterable love.
Afraid! Of Him? O, never, never! And yet -- and yet -- O, Mole, I am afraid!
Then the two animals, crouching to the earth, bowed their heads and did worship.
