first edition narnia series

Postby linslorr » May 31st, 2007, 9:04 pm

Hi,

I dont know if anyone will be able to help me with this, but i thought i'd give it a try. I am looking for copies of the Chronicles of Narnia series when it was first published from 1950-1956. I've already tried EBAY, but found nothing there. Also, I am looking for the first edition put out by Macmillan publishers. If anyone knows of any good websites, where I can look for these, please let me know...Id greatly appreciate it. thanks

Welcome, Linslorr!

Probably the most reliable place online would be .
Rat! he found breath to whisper, shaking. Are you afraid?
Afraid? murmured the Rat, his eyes shining with unutterable love.
Afraid! Of Him? O, never, never! And yet -- and yet -- O, Mole, I am afraid!
Then the two animals, crouching to the earth, bowed their heads and did worship.

I think I know the one you mean, Linslorr. There is a Baynes illustration in the last chapter of VDT that shows Reepicheep, Lucy, Eustace, and Edmund riding in the coracle away from the ship. I don't know of anywhere online you might find it.
