Deeper Quantum Physics from Before the Dawn of Time

Postby Stanley Anderson » July 3rd, 2007, 4:51 pm

See if the article at the link above (assuming any of it makes any sense -- lots of scientific references and all) reminds you of Deep Magic from the Dawn of Time (ie, the Big Bang) vs Deeper Magic from Before the Dawn of Time (ie, the Big Bounce). One can almost hear it rewritten to say things like "Einstein could only look to the Deep Quantum at the Dawn of time. But if Einstein had looked before the big bang he might have found there a deeper universe...:-)

And then it seemed to him that as in his dream in the house of Bombadil, the grey rain-curtain turned all to silver glass and was rolled back, and he beheld white shores and beyond them a fair green country under a swift sunrise.

Thank you, same here.

That is very interesting, though I admit I didn't understand a lot of the article. I think I kind of got it. Thanks for finding that!

Aaah. I get it.

Sorry, I miss stuff like that sometimes!

But the article was pretty much just saying scientists no longer believe in the Big Bang, but the Big Bounce, right? Or was it that there was a Bounce before the Bang?

Well, the whole point of this article was to challenge the Big Bang theory, so you should get along quite well with it, Pilgrim. I like the idea of a Big Bounce much better. It just sounds more plausible to my non-scientific mind. Plus, it reminds us that even if the Bang was correct, it still doesn't explain a lot of things, like how did that little ball of mass get there to begin with? And if it contained everything then where was it? And... well I'd better stop or I'll be up half the night wondering where the universe ends and what's beyond that.

Yeah, the Big Bang theory has too many holes in it. Like, isn't there some rule against infinite volume? But, more than that, I just tend to distrust science in general.
