Judging a Narnia book by its cover

Postby Dan65802 » September 6th, 2007, 12:48 pm

I found an interesting article on a blog I read from time to time. It's about the evolution of the Narnia covers. Two warnings:
1. the author isn't a giant Narnia fan or Tolkien fan for that matter
2. the blog title and logo are just a teensy bit risqué.

Here's the article:

- Dan -
"Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that." - Martin Luther King

…on a night of rain Frodo smelled a sweet fragrance on the air and heard the sound of singing that came over the water. And then it seemed to him that as in his dream in the house of Bombadil, the grey rain-curtain turned all to silver glass and was rolled back, and he beheld white shores and beyond them a fair green country under a swift sunrise.

I don't think Dan puts his books under the table. I suspect that it is a reminder to him that when he is under the table, it is necessary to lie to save face - or his job.

Why his boss lets him drink in work hours is beyond me!
