Ok. But Lewis was made motherless when he was nine !

" The family's happiness was relatively short-lived, however; Lewis's mother contracted cancer when he was nine years old and slowly died at home. Lewis wrote in Surprised by Joy: The Shape of My Early Live: "With my mother's death all settled happiness, all that was tranquil and reliable, disappeared from my life" "

A good book to look at for information about this is Paul Ford's Companion to Narnia.
