Do you own a copy of the Narnia Cookbook?

Yes! I got it when it was still in print, for around the retail price.

Yes! I got it after it went out of print, but found it for a really good price.

No. I wish I did have it, but I'm not about to pay what it would cost nowadays.

No. I wish I did have it, and will probably get it one of these days, even though it costs quite a bit. It's a collector's item, after all.

Do you own the Narnia Cookbook?

Postby john » January 25th, 2008, 9:11 pm

Just curious about something.

In 1998, HarperCollins published the Narnia Cookbook, which I bought. It's a wonderful book, with some fantastic color illustrations, and I consider it one of my few Narnia-related treasures.

On a whim, I went searching to see how much a copy costs now, and it seems you'd be pretty hard pressed to find it for less than $150.

I'm wondering if anybody else owns this book.

Rat! he found breath to whisper, shaking. Are you afraid?
Afraid? murmured the Rat, his eyes shining with unutterable love.
Afraid! Of Him? O, never, never! And yet -- and yet -- O, Mole, I am afraid!
Then the two animals, crouching to the earth, bowed their heads and did worship.

"What are you laughing at?"
"At myself. My little puny self," said Phillipa.

You can somehow get it here for $16.95 ()??? That's what my eyes see anyway...

Click on "add to wish list". Below are other vendors and pricings...
Today I went to IKEA and hid in the wardrobes, and every time someone opened the doors I welcomed them to Narnia!!

heh, that's the 'list price'. If you click on the connections, you'll see it is listed as out of stock, but that they will sell it used for $150.00+.

What kinds of recipes does it have in it? I'm guessing it goes beyond Turkish Delight?

Just remember, you don't own the book; you've only purchased a license for it's use.
