Perhaps Adamson could've stayed closer to the heart of the book if he actually used more of Lewis' story and dialogue.

Think of Baz Luhrman's Romeo and Juliet. The most cinematic of the film adaptions of the play and yet it does remain true to the material (Despite the poor acting of the leads :rolleyes: ) and Luhrman used most only lines from the original script.

I'm not suggesting that they modernise Narnia (shudder! can you imagine?) but to capture that feeling he had when reading it as a child wouldn't it have made sense to use the words he read as a child?

I'm not sure about Apted as the new director though I wasn't overly impressed with Amazing grace...
