Wix!

It's been, what...a couple of years? Good to see you here, and hope you're well.

FYI, I'm back in the US again. Moved last year. :)

Wow, must have been out of it when I replied last night. That's what happens when you don't get enough sleep. I agree Peter was sulky, Caspian was sultry.

I should reread the book too. It's been too long.

"Well," said Pooh, "what I like best -- " and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called.

Well, I am very late to this thread, as we only purchased the Prince Caspian DVD here at Christmas and just viewed it for the first time. I do agree with many of the critiques of what I am calling "Prince Caspian - A Movie"
Without going into my agreements with many of the critiques - I will give my general summary as an American fan of the Chronicles of Narnia - each book and the series in total.

In LWW Movie- I at least had the sense that there was some of what I call the "British sensibility" that Lewis infused CoN with - given it was the Knowledge base and cultural base from which he wrote. It was also closer, in relative terms than PC movie to the book in dialogue and message.

In PC - I picked up almost nothing of Lewis' 'British sensibility" in PC. It got lost in the jumbling of the book's plot and the 85% of the film dialogue that did not readily reflect the the book.

As an adventure film, it was OK, but nothing more.
In Christ alone,

Got the DVD for Christmas and watched it with several first timers on Christmas evening. I had only seen it once in the theater and tried to watch it separated from my knowledge of the book and the expectations that come with that knowledge. That was, of course, impossible to do. But I do agree with what some others have said. If LWW and PC had been independent scripts with no books to compare them to, PC worked much better as far as storytelling goes and was a much better movie.

However, it was so far from the book, that it was hard to completely enjoy the storytelling.
