Well, I am very late to this thread, as we only purchased the Prince Caspian DVD here at Christmas and just viewed it for the first time. I do agree with many of the critiques of what I am calling "Prince Caspian - A Movie"
Without going into my agreements with many of the critiques - I will give my general summary as an American fan of the Chronicles of Narnia - each book and the series in total.
In LWW Movie- I at least had the sense that there was some of what I call the "British sensibility" that Lewis infused CoN with - given it was the Knowledge base and cultural base from which he wrote. It was also closer, in relative terms than PC movie to the book in dialogue and message.
In PC - I picked up almost nothing of Lewis' 'British sensibility" in PC. It got lost in the jumbling of the book's plot and the 85% of the film dialogue that did not readily reflect the the book.
As an adventure film, it was OK, but nothing more.
In Christ alone,
Brian
