It has belatedly occurred to me that I knew Anna Popplewell's great-grandmother! Her maiden name was Nina Marks, and she had been a militant suffragette - she was a lifelong (and she lived long) feminist; one of her complaints was that as a keen follower of cricket, as a woman she was only able to get into Lords Pavillion as a guest of her grandson (Anna's father).

You met her? Did she live to a very old age, or are you quite old? :wink:

Both! :wink: I'm rapidly approaching threescore and ten, and though I don't think Nina was actually 90 when she died, she wasn't far off.
