One last hurrah.
Our beloved Tolkien forum has at last been winnowed out. We've seen the signs for years. We all knew this was coming. We've fought against the corruption and the tyranny, but all to no avail.
Our dear Tollers has been relegated to an inferior common position along with other authors. The sacred writings are placed side-by-side with inferior works. No longer do we, the Middle-Earth enthusiasts, enjoy the privacy and privilege of our own little corner in the Wardrobe. We are thrust out in the cold, driven into the crowd to be trampled underfoot!
No amount of grieving or supplications can right the wrongs or justify the infringement of our freedoms. 'Tis a sad day. A wound that will never fully heal.
Ah, well. Chin up. We carry on even in the face of adversity and generalized forums.
Farewell to thee, beloved Tolkien Forum! The haven of our posts, the bulwark of our tirades against Peter Jackson, the resting place of every beloved Tolkien thread, the home of each LotR reading group that brightened our very existence! Alas for thee who art no more!
