Where is this quote from?

Postby tngirly » July 8th, 2009, 2:32 pm

I have seen this quote but no citations- can anyone tell me where it is from? It is attributed to CS LEwis and I like it but I want to be sure I have the right source!

"We are not necessarily doubting that God will do the best for us; we are wondering how painful the best will turn out to be

I'm not sure, but my guess would be the chapter of The Problem of Pain entitled "The Goodness of God."

Rat! he found breath to whisper, shaking. Are you afraid?
Afraid? murmured the Rat, his eyes shining with unutterable love.
Afraid! Of Him? O, never, never! And yet -- and yet -- O, Mole, I am afraid!
Then the two animals, crouching to the earth, bowed their heads and did worship.

Not an exclusion but just an accidental omission. There are a few, as I discovered when I prepared Yours, Jack.

But this is one I did not know. Thanks, Sven!
