Honestly, I'm not sure what to make of the visions at the end of the book. Other than maybe that we don't see everything, because at first Orual just knows that she has been working, that she has been trampled, etc. Only later does she see that these things helped Psyche. Likewise, she doesn't realize how she and the Fox tortured Psyche.

Easier to understand is her realization that because she was so focused on her own plight, she didn't notice that she was "devouring" Bardia and also never thought about how Redival had been effected by events. The remarks about Redival are interesting too because it's not, "Oh, the poor thing was just misunderstood." She still says Redival was a shallow girl, but the point is that Orual didn't even stop to think about her feelings. And how could she understand the god if she couldn't understand her own sister and her best friend?
