You should read her biography And God Came In by Lyle Dorset. She became a Christian partly through Lewis's writings.

I got Smoke on the Mountain for Christmas last year. A very good read, quite meaty material. You can see why she got on well with Lewis.

Can I say I read Smoke on the Mountain a couple of years ago and I thought it was awful. It was badly written, dull and badly argued. I can only assume that Lewis must have been blinded by love to write such a glowing introduction to it.

I loved Shadowlands. I'm sure she was a remarkable woman but I don't think she had any future as a religious writer.

Blinded by love?
