"many hundred years" - no wonder the White Witch seemed to have forgotten that she herself had used a "door to the world of men" by the time of LW&W. ;)

We can guess all sorts of things heppen in the hundreds of years between the events in MN and LWW. Didn't the Telmarines come through a door of sorts? Just becasue we don't see them till PC, doesn't mean that they weren't there during the events of LWW.

Unless there's a time frame given in the book that I forgot about.

Now there's an interesting idea, Linda. I've considered that idea before, but never seriously pondered it, but I'll tell you what, it would make for some interesting fan fiction (IMO). :)

In magical terms a door or doorway doesn't mean a physical door with a handle and hinges etc. It tends to mean a portal.

So I would suspect that by Doorway Jadis would be thinking of a more metaphysical contrivance.

As to the connection between the stable door and the wardrobe door.. I think thats just happen-stance. In order for the "bigger on the inside" concept to be explored, one needs a room or building to be in.. hence some sort of doorway.

Now.. if MN had featured a physical doorway into Narnia then maybe yes.. a connection could have been formed

door = portal, a way to get from one place to another

This is what I always thought Jadis meant in LWW.

Ah, so the Telmarines WERE there before LWW.

Where did that timeline come from?

Who did King Frank's children marry . . . ?
