Original Sin

Postby MotherLodeBeth » 19 Jun 2010, 01:39

Was having a discussion with a long time Jewish friend and relative and the issue of how 'original sin' got started in Christian teaching came up. In Judaism we were taught that one is born innocent and free from sin, and that it is how one lives their life when they become accountable for their actions that brings 'sin' into one life. Yet when I was in convent boarding school I remember being exposed to the idea that Adam and Eve were the authors of original sin because of their actions. Its a curious subject for me. ~Beth~
