Mystical Lands (An ode to the memory of C.S. Lewis)
Paul Burgin
Reprinted with permission of the author
Inside the mind of a man
A mystical union took place
Between Christianity and literary imagination
Done with probable unique perfection
Distant lands and distant planets
Seduced our thoughts in long guarded places
Bringing in it's hidden glory
An old and new unforgettable story
It was no parcelled dull article that we were offered
Only an old antique that was newly polished
So that we saw the thing in it's proper glory
The renewed glamour to the original story
The creed is the masculine, the literary feminine
Each intertwined and needing each other
As it was in the begining and is forever
And all the Shadowlands reflect it's true author.
