Neat articles. It seems like a good backup plan, but since women naturally make so much that they swell up to the point of pain unless they express it, it would seem odd for the father to nurse under normal circumstances.

WOW i am shocked! I find it absolutely halarious. If this catches on I wonder if we will see dads nursing the babies in public and women at home.

Another thing i am wondering about, is if a man produces milk, does the size of his breasts increase, as womens do after pregnancy?

…on a night of rain Frodo smelled a sweet fragrance on the air and heard the sound of singing that came over the water. And then it seemed to him that as in his dream in the house of Bombadil, the grey rain-curtain turned all to silver glass and was rolled back, and he beheld white shores and beyond them a fair green country under a swift sunrise.

I have heard of this before, and it was presented by people who were very much for it.

My first reaction is that it is totally wierd.

My second reaction is that in developed countries, men who want to do this are doing it for themselves, not the baby. Men are perfectly capable of close, nurturing contact with their babies without having to suckle them. In developing countries, where additional nourishment is actually an issue, I have a hard time seeing those (generally) traditionally minded dads engaging in the womanly art of breastfeeding.

My third reaction is that if I saw my husband trying to breastfeed our baby, regardless of his motivation, it might well be the end of our sex life! :lipssealed:

Overall, I think it's unecessary, and I'm convinced that men who want to do it are doing it more to nurture themselves than their children.
