I've read conflicting accounts on websites by persons purporting that C.S. Lewis got the name "Jacksie" from
A) His dog, which was run over by a car.
B) A neighbor's dog which he loved, hit by a car.
I have yet to find either account in any Lewis book that I have. Can anyone name a book that gives the source for this information, or a book written by Lewis in which he discusses this incident?
For those who don't know the answer to the former, why are there conflicting accounts?
