Difference between adult Edition and non-adult editions?

Postby Edisonbaggins » December 27th, 2005, 10:54 pm

Anybody know for sure?
I've heard that the adult edition features some kind of beheading that the non-adult editions omit, but I've also heard there is no difference besides some additional essays by Lewis in the adult Edition. What is legend and what is real?
I just bought a paperback box-set of the adult Edition because I don't want anything omitted and I'd like to read any additional essays available!
Also, this particular edition is not numbered, so I can choose how to organize the books at a whim without the numbers being out of sequence!

As far as I have flicked through, the adult editions are just like the adult editons of HP - a plainer cover so you can read them in the train without people laughing at you!
Seriously, I think the differences are no number on the spine, no pictures in the text, and possibly some notes in the back. One edition I saw a couple of months back had a set of spoilers about ALL the books - imagine going to read one of the other books and already knowing the main plot points (oh yes, this is Edmund, he's going to die in TLB...) Agh!

This year, or this month, or, more likely, this very day, we have failed to practise ourselves the kind of behaviour we expect from other people.
