Prince Caspian: The Movie

Postby Sven » February 2nd, 2006, 12:32 am

Rat! he found breath to whisper, shaking. Are you afraid?
Afraid? murmured the Rat, his eyes shining with unutterable love.
Afraid! Of Him? O, never, never! And yet -- and yet -- O, Mole, I am afraid!
Then the two animals, crouching to the earth, bowed their heads and did worship.

"Well, you know how it feels if you begin hoping for something that you want desperately badly; you almost fight against the hope because it is too good to be true; you've been disappointed so often before. But it was no good trying to throttle this hope. It might - really, really, it just might be true. So many odd things had happened already." - from the magician's nephew

YAY!!!! I can't wait!!

I've been thinking about this ever since seeing The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe and I must say, I'm so excited about the possibility of how true and close to the book they could make Prince Caspian.

At first when I saw LW&W, I was disappointed with the fact that they didn't build the mystery, the expectation and the excitement before meeting Aslan (which despite its weaknesses, I feel the BBC adaptation did much better!). However, I felt they compensated for this in the new movie by developing the childrens characters much more than the (dare I say it) almost 1-dimensional portrayal of the kids in the BBC adaptation.

This character development which was done in LW&W, I think, will assist, in the making of PC in that they won't need to develop the characters as much. After all, we saw much more of the weakness/doubts of Peter and particularly of Susan in LW&W (the movie) which come out even more in the PC (the book), so from that angle I'm very excited about the potential of what Walden & Disney can do to PC as a movie!

Disney had better not do anything to the movie except promote and distribute it! Oh yes, and they can pay half the budget if they like.... ;)

I wonder if they can make it long enough without adding too much filler...the plot of Prince Caspian seems kind of short for a whole movie.... :??:

Having their logo on it does not give Disney any artistic say. I've been watching closely on this for two years, and have had useful insider comments explaining this fact. The rights to the films are with Walden.

Without my friends or cousins, I don't make sense. Life would be somewhere not worth my time.

"Jill," said Tirian, "you are the bravest and most wood-wise of all my subjects, but also the most malapert and disobedient."
"By the Mane!" he whispered to Eustace. "This girl is a wondrous wood-maid. If she had Dryad's blood in her she could scarce do it better." - The Last Battle
