I do agree that a note would have been nice to alert sensitive readers to the nature of the picture. I love art museums and NEVER get to go to any except the Hermitage when I am in Russia, but you expect to see it there, one might not expect to see it in a forum about Narnia...
But Ahem, regarding the ears, having now seen the movie (which I loved, adored, was delighted with, and am seeing again tomorrow
) BUT my one complaint about the movie (besides that it is too short and they should have included more of the original dialogue) is that SOME of the effects were a little lacking--some movements not quite right--and the ears of the Centaurs and Fauns were kind of silly. If they had made them flick and move as a real creature's would in the course of its interaction with the environment, they would have looked far better. But they just hang on the actors' heads like felt cut-outs...sigh...I do admit that could easily have been done better.
