So with that said can we really call the Narnia books a allegory.?

Lewis wrote the books with intended Christian themes and underlying parallels to a number of aspects of faith and the Christian gospel.

It is not, however, an Allegory, which is a specific device used in Literature. In Allegory, everything in the story has a spiritual or other meaning (eg in the famous Allegory "Pilgrim's Progress" a character walks down a road, representing the path of life, he finds he has a heavy bag on his back, representing sin which is a burden to him)..

Lewis used a lot of imagery and symbolism, but often the things in the Narnia stories are to remind us of events/people in the Bible, or in the experience of Christian faith/life.
