How about Jill's venturing too near the edge of the cliff at the beginning of The Silver Chair. When Aslan asks her why she was doing that she replies, "I was showing off, sir." Then he says, "That was a very good answer". I admire Jill's honesty. She is a very likeable character, though she and Eustace were quite foolish to trust the Lady of the Green Kirtle's in directing all three of them to giants' "hospitality" at Harfang. She would have made a great actress when she entertained the giants, but let's face it, Puddleglum was the smartest of the three-- his pessimism was more clever than Jill's optimism.
