Hello, everyone. I am the one who started this question. I didn't mean for this to turn into a debate over the books being used to bring people to Christ (however you want to word that). I was just interested in people's responses to the question of what is the difference between C of N and H.P. when they both have magic.

I personally am not a supporter of H.P. (I must admit I have never read one of the books but I did see a good bit of the first movie and my boss has practically explained the whole thing to me) only because of the spirit behind the writing. I know that the Holy Spirit did not give Rowling the idea for the H.P. books whether she claims to go to church or not I don't know. Going to church does not make you a Christian. The Bible is very clear on witchcraft and bottom line it is wrong. Any power that is not from the power of God is wrong. Witchcraft, magic, whatever is just another one of man ways trying to be his own god or get to God in his own way. Which man cannot go to God in his own way it has to be the way God Himself set up otherwise it is rebellion and rebellion is as witchcraft.

Anyway, the only way to lead someone to Christ is to live a life worthy of the calling. Living what you say you believe. The Holy Spirit is the one who draws and He can use any means He wants even a child's story.

Okay I am done. Thank you for reading.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

My kind is known only as,The JesusFreaks. We are laughed at and mocked. Their is only one road,Christianity. You can choose to follow,or you can choose not to follow. The choice is yours, so decide. Choose a deep intimicy for Christ, And become a person known only as, a JESUSFREAK!
