Once someone asked a Scots member of the Queen's Guard if he wore anything under his kilt. He said no: Anyone, he said, who was not willing to "chafe" for Her Majesty did not deserve to serve her. So apparently those woolen kilts with no underwear are a little grating on a tender part of the male anatomy.
If you saw Braveheart and remember the scene where the Scots moon the British army, you know the bare realities of it.
At Celtic festivals in the USA, the guys always wear lyrca biker shorts when tossing the caber or something like that. Is it "caber"--the sport where you throw a wooden pole big as a telephone pole?
