I've now seen the film, and thought that, overall, it did a good job.
Most things looked suitable Narnian, and I was particulary impressed with the "look" of the encampments.
For me, a large part of the appeal of the books has always been the illustrations by Pauline Baynes. In fact, I admire her work so much that I have been collecting various books she has graced and to my surprise and delightm was able to buy some of the original works from Prince Caspian.
I am aware that she is an intensely private person, but I did feel that her input would have further enhanced the film. I do not think she was consulted, or if she was even approached.
Am I alone in feeling that she does not really get the recognition she deserves for shaping our minds' eye view of Narnia?
