Looking at Amazon.com, I notice that there is a regular edition (in either full screen or widescreen) and a "special edition" with two discs. On the regular edition it lists "bloopers" as one of the special features. But that item, for instance, is not listed in the special features list on the two disc set.
I hope that it is simply because of an incomplete list of special features on the two-disc set. To include different special features on the regular edition in order to make fans get both versions if they want all the extras, would seem to be -- well, not pretty.

…on a night of rain Frodo smelled a sweet fragrance on the air and heard the sound of singing that came over the water. And then it seemed to him that as in his dream in the house of Bombadil, the grey rain-curtain turned all to silver glass and was rolled back, and he beheld white shores and beyond them a fair green country under a swift sunrise.
